The opening section of the 2010 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale came to a close on the Gold Coast today when the third session was held at the famous Bundall complex.
With more good trade today, the sale gross soared to $22.97 million – up over $3.5 million on last year’s figures.
The sale average rounded out at $51,968 – shy of last year’s $56,191 – but that figure was bolstered with the $3 million Magic Millions record sale of Princess Coup.
No lots today were able to compete with the two top priced lots of the previous two days with the feature mare today, Phelan Ready’s dam Nancy Eleanor failing to reach her million dollar reserve.
The top price during today’s session was $290,000 for Alverta’s stakes performed full sister Alverta who was sold in foal to Choisir.
The daughter of Flying Spur was snapped up by leading Sydney based bloodstock agent Vin Cox.
Group One winning mare Victory Vein, in foal to More Than Ready, was purchased for $280,000 by the team from Patinack Farm.
Another stakes winning mare Single Rose, a daughter of Irgun in foal to Flying Spur, also proved popular and was another purchased by Vin Cox – this time for $270,000.
