Singapore’s best juveniles will go head to head in this Sunday’s $200,000 Group Three Magic Millions Juvenile Championship (1200m) at Kranji.
Twelve entries were received for the feature event – nine of them graduates of Magic Millions sales.
Mr Big and Dark Matter, who fought out the finish in the $325,000 Aushorse Golden Horseshoe look set to the start the favourites in the big race.
Other highly regarded youngsters including The Tudor, Rush, El Milagro, Tzar and Kaiser are given good chances by the good judges.
Mr Big, a son of Elusive Quality and a $21,000 Gold Coast Yearling Sale purchase, is prepared by Michael Freedman and will be out to keep his unbeaten run intact.
He created a big impression when on debut he won a maiden race by many lengths – and a week later backed up to beat the best juveniles in the inaugural Aushorse feature.
Dark Matter, a son of Stratum and a $140,000 Gold Coast Yearling Sale buy, was sent out the favourite in that race after two brilliant wins. He lost no admirers with his fighting second placing.
Steven Burridge trains Dark Matter and he will also saddle up the Barely a Moment youngster Awakened in the MM Championship.
Rocket Man’s trainer Patrick Shaw has two entries including the untapped prospect The Tudor (Zeditave).
Mr Big and the Tudor was two of four unbeaten runners heading into Sunday’s feature.
Last year’s Magic Millions Juvenile Championship winner Gingerbread Man, a $30,000 Gold Coast Yearling, will run in the Group Two $300,000 Chairman’s Trophy (1800m) also to be run on Sunday.
