A magnificent oil painting of champion three-year-old Shoot Out will go under the hammer for a great cause at the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale on Sunday.
Beautifully framed, the painting will be personally signed by trainer John Wallace and regular rider Stathi Katsidis.
Gold Coast based master farrier Peter O’Sullivan donated his time and materials to produce the painting – all proceeds from the sale to be donated to the Yeomans family.
Three-year-old Jye Yeomans, son of Magic Millions employee Scott and his wife Youlah, was recently diagnosed with leukemia and the sale of the painting is the latest initiative to raise funds for the family.
The painting is now on display in the Magic Millions Sale Day Office and will be until it goes under the hammer at 1pm (Qld time) on Sunday.
Peter O’Sullivan, the painting’s artist, is a well known farrier who lives a stone’s throw from the Magic Millions complex at Bundall.
The painting depicts Shoot Out racing away to win this year’s Group One AJC Derby.
A $15,000 Magic Millions Yearling Sale purchase, Shoot Out also won the Group One Randwick Guineas and has earned his owners, the Huddy family, over $1.36 million from just 11 starts.
The son of High Chaparral will be aimed at this year’s feature spring carnival races in Melbourne by Wallace, one of the Gold Coast’s best known horsemen.
Anyone seeking more information of to express interest in bidding the painting should contact Magic Millions Media Manager Greg Irvine (0408 280 979 or [email protected]).
