A big two weeks of selling has concluded on the Gold Coast with the Magic Millions National Racehorse Sale staged today.

Over $4 million was traded on a revised line up of 184 racehorses offered during a day where spirited bidding was received on most lots.

The average price of almost $23,000 was well up on last year’s corresponding sale where the top price was $64,000. 

The top price for the day came for the beautifully related Encosta de Lago filly Another Prayer, purchased by John Thompson for $140,000.

The well related Flying Spur filly Recoinage is set to join a new Sydney stable after being sold to a New South Sales based client of Magic Millions’ Barry Bowditch for $115,000.

While three lots from the Unreserved Reduction Sale from Patinack Farm topped the day’s selling, lots from Darley proved popular with David O’Callaghan Bloodstock snapping up Tunes for $90,000

“We had a great crowd on hand from all over the country, as well as from overseas and competition was strong throughout the day,” Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox said.

“Today wrapped up a successful National Sale with increases across the board at all sections of the sale.”

“A number of vendors reported outstanding results over the past fortnight and vendors and buyers should be congratulated for their efforts.”

The sales focus now switches to Perth for the Winter Yearling Sale at the Belmont Park Sales Complex on June 16.
