Qtis Sale Inspections Underway

Inspections are underway as the Gold Coast prepares for the 2013 Magic Millions QTIS Yearling Sale starting Sunday.

After receiving record entries for the top producing sale, the catalogue was trimmed to 450 outstanding prospects for the two day auction.

With all yearlings eligible for the rich $5.85 million Magic Millions race series as well as $8 million in QTIS bonuses the sale is the auction of choice for many Queensland owners and trainers.

But with the quality of the auction rising every year the sale is quickly establishing itself as one of the best performing in the country and is a must for all buyers from around Australia and overseas.

Statistics reveal that the QTIS Yearling Sale is behind only January’s Gold Coast Yearling Sale as Australia’s best performing for two-year-old winners this season.

Queensland bred performers are frequent visitors to the winner’s stall and this was evidenced again on Saturday when grand campaigner Shoot Out resumed from a spell for a Group One winning in the Chipping Norton Stakes.

Earlier this year four of the first five horses over the line in the state’s richest race, the $2 million Jeep Magic Millions 2YO Classic, were bred in Queensland.

The winner Real Saga is by Australia’s leading first crop sire Real Saga – the most represented sire in this week’s sale with 37 youngsters catalogued.

Trainers and bloodstock agents have begun their inspections ahead of Sunday and Monday’s sale and early feedback is positive.

“For whatever reason very few southern state buyers come to this sale, however it is Queensland’s best kept secret,” Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox said.

“They are racehorses that are not only qualified for the Magic Millions race series, but also QTIS and many others are eligible for the southern state bonuses.”

“At the end of the day everyone wants a winner and that’s what you’ll get out of this sale,” Cox added.
