Perth’s Belmont Racecourse is the place to be this weekend with an action packed couple of days of action.
Tomorrow the track will host a quality eight race card headlined by the listed HG Bolton Sprint.
And then on Sunday the grounds will play host to the Magic Millions Perth Winter Thoroughbred Sale.
Commencing at noon on Sunday, the sale has attracted a catalogue of 130 lots, including a select line up of supplemenary lots.
Included in the catalogue are stakes performed racehorses and broodmares, beautifully bred weanlings, an exciting young sire and a couple of yearlings.
The racehorse section includes stakes winner El Rijes, stakes placed The Pupster, metropolitan winners Ysmael, Desire Path and a number of other city class performers.
A highlight of the auction will be the quality weanling component of the catalogue with represented sires including Alfred Nobel, Blackfriars, Danehill Express, Demerit, Due Sasso, Flying Pegasus, Musket, Oratorio, Saxon, Scandal Keeper, So Secret, Soldier’s Tale, Trade Fair, Viscount, Vital Equine and Von Costa de Hero.
Weanlings catalogued include youngsters from stakes performers Yumalishus, Amore Venus, Claise Brook, Dawinner, Lomas Bayas and Mega Me as well as half, three quarter or full relations to stakes performers Coppertito, Detail, Macau Eagle, Mansion House, Trigger Express and You Sexy Boy.
The broodmare section includes stakes placed mares Amore Venus, Broccoletta and Moet Magic and lots served last spring by sires including Balestrini, Passenger, Reward for Effort, Rogano, Universal Ruler.
Also set to go under the hammer as Lot 117 is popular local stallion Patronize – a Redoute’s Choice three quarter brother to champion Australian sire and Black Caviar’s first covering sire Exceed and Excel.
The beautifully bred Patronize, a multiple winner himself, is the sire of city winners Jestpatim, Silver Speck, Closing Time and Miki Two Shoes.
From just 16 runners to date he is the sire of six winners, four of them in Perth, and seven other placegetters.
