This week’s Magic Millions National Yearling Sale received a boost when Toowoomba filly Tinto scored a comprehensive win in Saturday’s Group One $400,000 Queensland Oaks (2400m) at Eagle Farm.
Prepared by Rex Lipp, Tinto raced away to beat the favourite Arabian Gold by a length and a half in a dominant performance.
The win was the first Group One win for Gold Coast jockey Tim Bell who also rounded out the day with a pair of Group Two wins – the Queensland Guineas aboard Sir Moments and the Magic Millions QTC Cup aboard Sacred Star.
A graduate of the 2012 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale, Tinto is a member of the inaugural Magic Millions Racing Women crop. She is raced by Grania McAlpine along with her friend, first time owner Annabelle Raff.
The ladies cheered loudly as their daughter of Red Dazzler steamed away over the concluding stages to record her second stakes success.
The filly was sent out the second favourite in the Oaks after her win two starts back in the Gold Coast Bracelet and her last second closing second to Arabian Gold in the Doomben Roses.
A campaign in Melbourne during the spring beckons for the classy filly. Lipp will enter her for a number of features including the Group One Caulfield Cup.
Tinto is the first Group One winner for her sire, Red Ransom’s Toorak Handicap winning son Red Dazzler, a resident of Eureka Stud.
The Oaks heroine is one of three winners produced by the Brave Warrior mare Truly Brave.
A winner of seven races including a metropolitan two-year-old event, Truly Brave is also the dam of the city performed two time winner A Fine Drop of Red and this season’s two-year-old placegetter Tweedies.
The latest yearling from Truly Brave, a Red Dazzler full brother to Tinto is being presented by Eureka at this week’s Magic Millions National Yearling Sale.
The brown colt is catalogued as lot 1889 and he will go under the hammer during the second day of the yearling sale on Thursday.
There are seven yearlings catalogued in the sale by Red Dazzler – five colts and two fillies.
