Magic Overseas Run Nets 1000 Wins For Season

Just days after notching a $100 million Australian prizemoney milestone, Magic Millions graduates have reached another significant seasonal milestone.

Oriental Taste, a classy Macau based son of Dubleo, notched win number 1000 for Magic Millions graduates on international tracks since August 1 when successful on Saturday evening.

Prepared in Macau by champion trainer Gary Moore, Oriental Taste proved much too good for his rivals, racing away to win the rich Korea Racing Authority Goodwill Trophy (1100m) in outstanding fashion.

“He’s a classy galloper who was one of the best three-year-olds in Macau and he’s continued on that great form,” a delighted Gary Moore said after the Gold Coast where he is preparing for the National Yearling Sale.

“I have a good opinion of the horse and he actually came out of this sale in 2009 – so here’s hoping we can find another one this week,” he added.

Oriental Taste was purchased for $52,500 from the Vinery Stud draft at the auction three years ago.

The classy gelding was one of three Magic Millions graduates to win in Macau on Saturday. The others were Macau Eagle (Zeditave) and Magic Falcon (O’Reilly) – the latter a National Weanling Sale graduate from 2009.

The international sweep has continued since the milestone with Gingerbread Man winning the Group Two Steward’s Cup in Singapore on Sunday and Excellent Reward winning the listed Castletown Stakes at Foxton in New Zealand today.
