Magic Milestones By The Pair In Perth

Within a few hours on Wednesday graduates of Australia’s top thoroughbred sales company Magic Millions passed two major milestones.

When talented juvenile Hot Tamale won her third city race at Belmont she pushed the prizemoney earned by Magic Millions graduates this season in wins over the $65 million barrier.

And later that day when Ten Degrees won the final event at Belmont – he notched up win number 4000 for the season.

The first milestone achiever Hot Tamale is yet another classy young Western Australian galloper by Stravinsky’s red hot, booked out, sire son Oratorio.

With promising apprentice Andrew Castle in the saddle, Hot Tamale got home in a driving finish to continue the good run for top Perth horseman Paul Jordan.

Hot Tamale, who is raced by a group headed by Harvey Crossman’s Lima Syndicate, has earned a cheque at eight of her nine runs.

The $25,000 Perth Yearling Sale purchase has already collected for her connections a cool $105,000.

Hot Tamale is a half sister to the stakes performed juvenile Fighting Fox – a winner of three races at two and earner of over $88,000.

Their dam Fimmel Fox, an unraced Canny Lad mare, has produced five winners from five runners.

Her family includes the Group One winners Bellota, Rocket Racer, Starzaan, Lotteria and Taatletail.

The 4000 win milestone maker Ten Degrees cost just $10,000 at the Perth Yearling Sale in 2007.

A grey gelding by Numerous Times, Ten Degrees is the only runner to date for his dam – the unraced Tribu mare Pretty Pia.

Hailing from the family of Hong Kong star Solid Contact and a direct descendant of Aussie Consul, Ten Degrees has won his connections over $64,000.

The John Betts trained gelding is now the winner of five races.

By the time Ten Degrees had won the prizemoney earned by Magic Millions graduates this season in Australian wins alone had reached $65,160,779.
