Oriental Taste confirmed his status as Macau’s top juvenile when led home his rivals in Sunday’s listed Lisboa Juvenile (1400m) on turf.
A member of the Gary Moore stable, Oriental Taste made it five wins from 10 starts when he won the M$450,000 feature event.
Rider Chin Kin Ming got plenty out of Oriental Taste over the concluding stages to hold out Northern Champion by a neck with Winner Winner third, another length back.
It was a perfect result for Magic Millions – all three placegetters sold by the leading Australian based auction house.
Oriental Taste, a youngster by Dubleo, was purchased by Moore in conjunction with leading bloodstock agent John Hutchinson of Scone Bloodstock Services.
The duo big to $52,500 for the youngster when offered by Vinery Stud (As Agent) at the 2009 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale.
This year’s National Yearling Sale has attracted its best ever quality catalogue and it will be held over three days on the Gold Coast from June 5 to 7.
The Lisboa Prelude runner-up Northern Champion is a son of Mugharreb who was purchased from the Riverside Stud draft at the 2009 Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale for just $2,250.
Third placegetter Winner Winner, a stablemate of the winner by Starcraft, was a $52,500 buy from the 2009 Magic Millions National Horses in Training Sale at the Gold Coast.
Oriental Taste is one of four winners for his once raced dam Horas.
A daughter of Racing is Fun, Horas is a three quarter sister to Group One winner and producer Fun on the Run – dam of triple Group One victor Tall Poppy.
Oriental Taste was one of four Magic Millions graduates to win on the feature raceday on Sunday.
