Love Conquers AllRising sprint star Love Conquers All made the rise to weight for age with ease at Randwick today with a demolition of his rivals in the Group Three $125,000 Missile Stakes (1200m).

An outstanding son of Mossman, Love Conquers All cruised home to beat the multiple Group One winners Danleigh and Sniper’s Bullet in a dominant performance.

Now the winner at his three runs since a slashing third in the $1 million Magic Millions 3YO Trophy in January, Love Conquers All is set to head to Melbourne to clash with the best sprinters in the land.

“Today was the tell tale run in weight for age,” co trainer Michael Hawkes said after the race.

Love Conquers All“He just puts himself in the right spot and he’s a real genuine racehorse.”

“It was always going to be an acid test for him. It was his first time at weight for age.”

“The best part about this horse is he puts himself there. Danleigh was just stalking him.”

“I told Jimmy (Cassidy) not to go before the rise and he just waited. Once he balanced up he really lengthened.”

“He’s just an athlete. That’s the best word to describe him. He’s only getting better.”

Hawkes said the four-year-old would be competitive in any race they set for him and it looks like his upcoming main targets would be in Melbourne.

Jim Cassidy“Honestly, today was the first step to see how he’d handle the weight for age and we’ll just see how he pulls up.”

“We can go anywhere with him. He’s pretty adaptable.”

The stable has had a long association with Love Conquers All’s owner Nick Moraitis and Michael Hawkes said it was great they had another star for the high profile businessman.

“He’s been with us a long time. He’s puts a lot in (to the industry) and deserves to get a lot back and I’m just glad we’ve got another good one for him.”

Moraitis, who purchased Love Conquers All through John Hawkes for $400,000 at the 2008 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, was a relieved man in the winner’s stall after the race.

“There’s always a bit of pressure when you have a horse that much under the market. Everyone is expecting him to win and thank god he got home.”

Love Conquers AllWinning rider Jim Cassidy said the exciting galloper was a little restless in the barriers, but once racing he was always cruising.

“He was a bit fresh today – a bit bouncy. He’s a stallion and you don’t want to be annoying him too much.”

“I was only worried about how far I was meant to win by,” Cassidy summed up.

A son of the Group One winning mare She’s a Meanie, Love Conquers All is the highest priced yearling ever sold by his sire Mossman.

He is a half brother to former stakes winning juvenile She’s Meaner – a filly who was narrowly beaten by Augusta Proud in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

The win of Love Conquers All continues the incredible big race run of horses who raced in January’s Magic Millions 3YO Trophy.

Eight of the first nine horses over the line have subsequently won at stakes level – the other was Group One placed behind another of the same group.
