Quality South African filly Hollywoodboulevard doubled her stakes winning tally on Saturday night when she scored a strong win in the Group Three R165,000 Three Troikas Stakes (1450m) at Turffontein.
A daughter of star international sire Street Cry, Hollywoodboulevard is trained by top horseman Charles Laird who’s tasted so much success with Magic Millions graduates over recent seasons.
The win wasn’t the first at stakes level for Hollywoodboulevard who had proven her class at her previous preparation when a winner of the Group Three Fillies Mile at Turffontein.
The filly went into Saturday night’s race as one of the fancied runners after a highly impressive win at the same track on January 15.
Her latest win was the fifth in nine starts for Hollywoodboulevard who’s now earned over R1.3 million.
The filly was purchased for a mere $6,000 from the draft of Bridgeview Stud by the team from Byefarm Breeders at the 2008 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale.
Hollywoodboulevard is by Machiavellian’s Dubai World Cup winning son Street Cry – sire of stars including Zenyatta, Shocking, Whobegotyou, Street Sense and Saturday’s Adelaide stakes winner River’s Lane.
He is the sole winner to date for the unraced Filante mare Soneria – she in turn is from a placed Marscay half sister to 11 time winner and stakes placegetter Anytime.
The latest yearling from Soneria, a half sister to Hollywoodboulevard by Tiger Hill, was purchased by E Thoroughbreds for $20,000 from the Bridgeview Stud draft at the recent 2011 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
