With entries now open for this year’s edition of the sale in October, graduates of the Magic Million National Horses in Training Sale continue their winning form around the world.
Talented five-year-old Warrior Within, a $58,000 purchase at the 2007 auction, notched career win eight when he demoralised his rivals in Sunday’s Murwillumbah Cup (2000m).
Under Paul Hammersley the son of King Cugat strolled clear in the home straight to win by five and a half lengths.
A Washpool Lodge graduate, Warrior Within has earned an ever increasing haul of $106,500. And judging by the ease of his latest success, it won’t be his last.
As has been the norm over recent years graduate of the sale continue to take Asia by storm – with countless winners over recent weeks in Singapore, Malaysia, Korea and Macau in particular.
The past weekend was no different with no fewer than six winners abroad.
A highlight of that group was the smart Hong Kong based three-year-old Eagle Regiment – a three quarter length winner at Sha Tin on Sunday.
Prepared by Manfred Man, Eagle Regiment is a son of Silent Witness’ sire El Moxie and was purchased for $150,000 at the 2009 HIT Sale.
The gelding has raced on six occasions for three wins and three second placings and he’s clearly one of the region’s most progressive young gallopers.
Al’s Knight, a $220,000 son of Fastnet Rock, was one of the weekend’s most impressive winners at Kranji in Singapore.
In Malaysia meanwhile the weekend winners including previous HIT graduates Brisbane, Tequila Sunrise and You Never Know.

Master Archie won four races in Hong Kong after being sold there. Initially in Australia he raced on four occasions and won the listed Tommy Smith Slipper. He ran in Mirror Mirror’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic when he ran 10th.
