Half To Perth Cup Winner To Sell This Month

A half brother to Lords Ransom, winner of Saturday’s Group Two Perth Cup at Ascot, will go under the hammer at this month’s Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale at Belmont.

Lords Ransoms half brother by Bel Esprit

Lords Ransom led home stablemate Ma Chienne to win the state’s feature staying contest and give trainer Adam Durrant and jockey Alan Kennedy their biggest wins to date.

The son of Jeune was sent out the popular elect after he won the tradition lead up, the Group Two Cox Stakes, and he didn’t let his supporters down in holding out his gutsy stablemate by a half length.

Now the winner of nine races, Lords Ransom is a son of the former smart racemare and ten time winner Palace Alice.

A stakes placed daughter of Palace Music, Palace Alice won a number of races in Tasmania and was third in a listed Fosters Classic there, but also won two races at Moonee Valley.

Palace Alice in turn is from a winning Vain half sister to New Zealand Group One winner My Sir Avon – a stakes winner also in Sydney and Melbourne.

Gray and Jan Williamson’s Mungrup Stud will present a half brother to Lords Ransom at the upcoming Perth sale – one of many members of a star studded draft.

The colt is by leading Victorian sire Bel Esprit and is catalogued as lot number 184. The youngster is eligible for the Westpeed bonus scheme.

The half brother to Lords Ransom isn’t the only yearling set to go under the hammer at the sale to be boosted today.

The day’s other feature was won by another Adam Durrant trained star, Ma Ma Machine.

His half brother by Dane Shadow is catalogued as lot 135 and will be offered at the auction by Oakland Park Stud.

Ma Ma Machine blitzed his rivals in the listed Summer Scorcher – winning by three and a half lengths – one of four winners on the day for Alan Kennedy.

Absolute Pleasure became the first Australian winner for her sire Trade Fair when she impressively won the day’s juvenile race on debut.

A member of the Trevor Andrews stable, Absolute Pleasure beat Totteridge Green and Magnificent Pair in an all Magic Millions finish.

A half brother to Absolute Pleasure, by leading Zeditave sire Zedrich, is catalogued as lot 491 by Evergreen Lodge for this month’s sale.

Well named three-year-old I’m Here to Win returned from a spell in the best possible way earlier in the day to win impressively.

The first of four winners for Alan Kennedy, I’m Here to Win finished too well for The Entourage, ridden by brother Ben, to win by three parts of a length.

Taunton Vale have the yearling half sister to I’m Here to Win catalogued (Lot 296) for the upcoming Perth Yearling Sale.

The black or brown filly is the latest yearling from the good producing Tribu mare Tribal Conquest and is by Time to Climb’s exciting young freshman sire Bearcat.

Meanwhile, a half sister by More Than Ready to Saturday’s impressive Bagot Handicap winner Atlantic Air is also in the Perth Sale.

The filly, a member of the Oakland Park Stud draft, is also a half sister to the Group One Sydney Cup winner No Wine No Song.
