Quality galloper Hooked will be out to give new connections an immediate Group One win when he goes under the hammer on October 1.
The winner of yesterday’s Group Three Cameron Handicap (1500m) at Newcastle, Hooked is one of the quality lots of the upcoming Magic Millions Patinack Farm Complete Dispersal Sale which starts on September 28.
The four-year-old entire will be sold by video presentation on the Gold Coast as he remains at the Randwick stables of trainer John Thompson in preparation for the $500,000 Group One Epsom Handicap (1600m) three days later.
Catalogued in the star studded sale as Lot 795, Hooked will be accepted for the Epsom Handicap prior to the sale and will be able to run in the big race for his new connections subject to full settlement to Magic Millions.
“To allow Hooked to remain in full training for the Epsom and to maximise his chances of winning, Hooked will be sold without reserve ‘in absentia’ at the sale on October 1 – just a few days before the Group One race,” Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox reported.
“It’s a great opportunity to buy a Group One runner on a Wednesday, run in a half million dollar race on the Saturday and possibly unearth one of the country’s brightest stud prospects.”
“Hooked can be inspected by appointment-only with Magic Millions at John Thompson’s Randwick stables while John puts the finishing touches on him prior to the Epsom.”
