Magic Millions graduates had a day out on Saturday with two stakes race trifecta clean sweeps in Australia as well as an international group race success.
Eurozone extended his unbeaten run to three when he scored an arrogant win in the listed The Rosebud at Randwick.
A $110,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale purchase for Duncan Ramage’s DGR Thoroughbred Services from the Carramar Park draft, Eurozone becomes the first stakes winner for the training combination of Bart Cummings and grandson James.
Sent out the favourite after two impressive wins, Eurozone led for much of the race and responded perfectly when asked over the concluding stages to hold out fellow Magic Millions graduates Dissident and Dowdstown Charlie.
Eurozone is a son of ill fated sire sensation Northern Meteor and is from the West Australian group winner Miss Vandal.
A daughter of Don’t Say Halo, Miss Vandal has also produced the Group Two Hill Stakes winner Miss Marielle among five winners from six runners.
Later in the afternoon it was another case of Magic Millions 1-2-3 in an Aussie stakes race when Settle Strada led home his rivals in the listed Belmont Newmarket Handicap in Perth.
The win was the third consecutive success in stakes races for the quality galloper after victories in the HG Bolton Sprint and Beaufine Stakes.
Settle Strada, a graduate of the Taunton Vale draft at the 2010 Perth Yearling Sale, is trained by David Harrison and was ridden to victory by Patrick Carbery.
One of six stakes winners for Danehill’s stakes winning son Strada, Settle Strada is the pin-up performer to date for his dam, the Thunder Gulch mare Unsettled.
An unraced mare, Unsettled is a half sister to the group placed Revolutions and is the dam of three winners from three runners.
Settle Strada’s third dam Palace Revolt, a daughter of Dedicated Ruler, won two races including the Group One Sydney Cup.
Rain Gal made it three stakes wins for Saturday when late in the night racing to victory in the Group Three Final Fling Stakes at Kenilworth in South Africa.
Prepared by Justin Snaith, Rain Gal was ridden to her half length success by Sean Cormack.
Rain Gal was purchased by renowned Sydney based bloodstock agent James Bester for $90,000 on behalf of South African businessman Hassen Adams.
The new group winner is a daughter of leading international sire Galileo and is from the proven stakes producing Hurricane Sky mare Raining.
A winner in Brisbane of three races at distances to 1200 metres, Raining is the dam of three winners from three runners including the Melbourne and Brisbane stakes performer Arjuna.
Arjuna was sold to Hong Kong where the son of Giant’s Causeway won four races and has retired with earnings of about $560,000.
Raining is from the winning Luskin Star mare Anne Leone, a half sister to Group One winner Pontormo.
