To be held at the Gold Coast on October 11 and 12 after four breeze up sessions at three venues, the sale will attract a first class domestic and international buying bench looking for their next racetrack star.
At last year’s sale the average price soared 68% while the median and gross prices also increased by 56% and 40% respectively. The clearance rate of over 83 per cent was a national leader.
In 2015 the sale boasted an outstanding depth to the buying bench, with 84 individual buyers from six states of Australia and nine nations abroad with a top price of $300,000 and some 31 lots sold for $100,000 or more.
Past sale graduates have won at racing’s elite levels in many countries and already last year’s auction has been responsible for no fewer than 12 juvenile winners this season.
Dreams Aplenty, purchased by Evan Hartley for $26,000 from the Nolen Racing draft last year, has been one of this season’s revelations with a win and string of outstanding runs including a close second in the Group Two BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes.
Other past graduate of the sale include Hooked, Cradle Me, The Alfonso, Soldi Domani, Happy Galaxy, Fontelina, Black Jag, Eagle Regiment, Riva de Lago, Graceful Anna, Dr Sweet and Melbourne Cup winner Shocking.
