Dehere’s Classy Half Brother To Stand In Victoria

Impeccably bred stallion Danesis has been acquired by Australian interests and will stand his debut season this spring in Victoria.

A half brother to champion international sire Dehere by the all conquering Danehill, Danesis is a welcome new addition to the roster at Hamilton’s Carin Park after a deal for his purchase was brokered by Magic Millions.

The stunning looking entire, earned over almost HK$6 million in Hong Kong during a black type career with star trainer John Moore.

Danesis won five races at distances to 1650 metres and ran an excellent second in the Group Three Premier Plate.

“He’s a strapping individual,” Carin Park’s Maggie Cumming said. “When he sold as a two-year-old in Hong Kong he made a record price of $7.5 million.”

“Danesis is certainly bred in the purple. He is a half brother to a champion sire in Dehere and is one of the last great bred sons of Danehill to enter stud.”

“He is from a stakes performed Secretariat mare and hails from a pedigree proven in both hemispheres,” Cumming added.

“Hong Kong is a tough environment and he raced there with good results over four or five seasons and earned almost HK$6 million.”

Danesis is one of three stakes performed gallopers produced by the five time stakes placed Secretariat mare Sister Dot.

Aside from Dehere she is also the dam of Defrere as well as the dam of Aussie group winner Hanks and international group winner Fast Decision.

Danesis is by Danzig’s champion sire son Danehill – sire of star Australian sires including Redoute’s Choice, Flying Spur, Danzero, Catbird, Fastnet Rock, Exceed and Excel, Danehill Dancer and Danasinga.

He will stand alongside group winning Magic Millions graduates Rebel Raider and Solo Flyer as well as Group One winner Curata Storm at a value debut service fee of $4,400 (inc GST).
