The 2011 Magic Millions Central Queensland Yearling Sale will be held in Rockhampton on May 6.
The sale was originally scheduled for April but had to be moved back so Rockhampton could recover from recent flooding.
Approximately 110 yearlings will be catalogued for the auction, which will be held at the Rockhampton Showgrounds.
Late last year Magic Millions, in conjunction with the Central Queensland Thoroughbred Breeders Association (CQTBA), announced an agreement to conduct the auction.
“We’re very much looking forward to the Central Queensland Yearling Sale on the new date of May 6,” Magic Millions’ Acting Managing Director David Chester said.
“We look forward to working closely with the CQTBA, the Rockhampton Jockey Club and Racing Queensland to take this sale to a new level.”
“The first ever sale was held in Rockhampton in the 1970s by Australian Estates Company Limited, and has endured the text of time, Magic Millions are very proud to be play a part in its future.”
Catalogues for the sale will be available from March 11.
Meanwhile, the Rockhampton Jockey Club has announced the $100,000 Magic Millions Plate (1200m) will be run at Callaghan Park on April 7.
To be run over 1200 metres the race is restricted to eligible Magic Millions Yearling Sale graduates. Any eligibility questions should be directed to Ross McKeown at Magic Millions.
