Cash Luck has completed a weekend to remember for Australia’s leading thoroughbred auctioneers Magic Millions with a career best performance to win the Group One Kranji Mile (1600m) in Singapore on Sunday evening.
On the speed throughout, Cash Luck shot to the front in the straight and found plenty under the urgings of rider Danny Beasley to win handsomely.
A $12,000 purchase from the 2010 Magic Millions QTIS Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast, Cash Luck was one of three Magic Millions graduates contesting the Singapore feature – the others ran third and fourth.
In winning Cash Luck provided trainer David Kok with his first group race success and yet another Kranji feature to Australian rider Danny Beasley.
“This is a dream come true as I don’t get many chances in group races,” Kok said after the win. “I’m very happy and excited I’ve won by first Group One race.”
Kok said he would see how Cash Luck pulled up before deciding whether to head to the Group One Raffles Cup, but a start in the Group One Singapore Gold Cup was certainly on the agenda.
The win was the second on the Kranji card for a son of former Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Bradbury’s Luck following the victory of Tiger Master (ex Atali), a $31,000 QTIS Yearling from Glenlogan Park.
It completed a memorable weekend for the Queensland based sire after the fantastic win of Fire Up Fifi in yesterday’s Group Two Blazer Stakes at Flemington.
Cash Luck is one of three winners, from three to race, for the Geiger Counter mare Blue Celeste, a mare who hails from the family of Golden Slipper winner and champion sire Marauding.
Blue Celeste was successful in Brisbane during a four win career – two of her wins coming at two at sprinting trips up to 1200 metres.
Cash Luck’s family is one well known to Magic Millions with the pedigree page including star MM graduates Sacred Choice, Latin News, Triple Asset and Malaysian champ Good Baby.
Magic Millions graduates had an incredible weekend with no fewer than 10 stakes wins including three Group One triumphs across Australia and Singapore.
Aside from Cash Luck the highlights included Boban’s outstanding last stride win in the Epsom Handicap in Sydney and Happy Trails’ lunging and popular victory in the Turnbull Stakes in Melbourne.
Stakes winning performances from quality gallopers including Zoustar, Fire Up Fifi, Arinosa and Anatina added to a clean sweep of the six juvenile races run on metropolitan tracks on Saturday including stakes wins for Alpha Miss, Law andRisen From Doubt.
