The Southern Hemisphere’s number one breeding stock sale will be held on the Gold Coast from late May. The National Weanling Sale will be followed by the National Broodmare, Yearling and Racehorse Sales in what promises to be a highlight on the international thoroughbred calendar.

Over recent seasons the National Weanling Sale has produced many stars – whether in the sale ring at yearling or two-year-old sales or on the track at the elite level. These graduates have included Group One winners  Pierro, Zoustar, Driefontein, Harry’s Son, Peggy Jean, Willow Magic and Sacred Star as well as Gregers, Whispering Brook, Mahuta, Alpha Miss, Eclair Choice and Redzel.

The 2016 National Weanling Sale has attracted a catalogue of 400 lots including the Bellview Park Stud Unreserved Dispersal and the Bell River Thoroughbreds Dispersal. The sale features progeny by sires including proven stars Snitzel, Fastnet Rock, I Am Invincible, Sebring, Written Tycoon and Redoute’s Choice, exciting young prospects All Too Hard, Pierro, Uncle Mo and Your Song and first season sires including Dundeel, Epaulette, Eurozone, Fight Sun, Shamus Award, Sizzling, Spirit of Boom, The Factor and Unencumbered.

The National Broodmare Sale has produced subsequent group winning stars including Cinque Cento, Russeting, Sister Madly and Miracles of Life and has sold the dams of countless future Group One winners including superstars Atlantic Jewel and Winx.

This year’s catalogue includes an outstanding line up of entries – hundreds of maiden race fillies and mares including the likes of Bounding, Fontiton and Perignon, Dalziel Racing’s Bring Me the Maid, and Triple Crown’s Group One winning juvenile Peggy Jean served in her first season by I Am Invincible.

Having produced graduates to win races including the Golden Slipper, Victoria Derby, Rosehill Guineas, KrisFlyer International Sprint, Dubai Golden Shaheen, New Zealand Oaks, Oakleigh Plate, Queensland Oaks and many other features, the National Yearling Sale has quickly established itself one of the region’s top performing auctions.

Over 450 yearlings will be catalogued in 2016 and Magic Millions is pleased to announce a select session for the first time. The National Racehorse Sale will be conducted following the yearling sale to bring to a close an action packed two weeks on the Gold Coast.

Catalogues will be available early May.
