Registrations are now open for the Myer Fashions on the Field competition at BMW Magic Millions race day, Saturday 15 January 2011.
Summer race-goers will showcase their individual style and vie for a prize pool totaling more than $10,000 in the hotly contested women’s and men’s racewear categories.
Myer Fashions on the Field will be judged by leading fashion identities including Myer racewear ambassador Rebecca Twigley and designer Wayne Cooper with the winner’s presentations made by Rebecca Twigley and BMW Magic Millions ambassador and international model, Jessica Hart.
Contestants will be judged on strict criteria including appropriateness of the outfit for summer racing; detail of accessories; understanding and interpretation of current fashion trends; and grooming and deportment. Appropriate headwear is mandatory for women and encouraged for men.
For the first time at Magic Millions, Myer Fashions on the Field is taking pre-registrations online at http://www.magicmillionscarnival.com.au/fashion. Pre-registration only takes a few minutes and we encourage fancy fillies and stylish stallions to register before Christmas.
Myer racewear ambassador Rebecca Twigley said she is looking forward to seeing how summer racing influences entrants to Myer Fashions on the Field.
“Every Myer Fashions on the Field competition has its own unique style and I am very excited to see how our Gold Coast entrants will interpret this season’s summer trends. We can expect to see bold bright colours such as coral pink and fuchsia, nautical influences such as stripes and spots and of course pretty floral prints,” Ms Twigley said.
Prizes include $4000 Myer gift card and a magnum of Pol Roger to the winner of women’s racewear, $2500 Myer gift card and magnum of Yalumba The Signature 05 to the winner of men’s racewear, Model Co gift packs for women’s racewear winner and runner’s up and Sony artist CD gift packs for runner’s up and electronic prizes for category winners. Entrants who pre-register go into the draw for a prize from Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa including one night’s stay, breakfast and a luxurious spa treatment.
