Magic Millions graduates have been recognised with award wins over recent days – both in Australia and abroad.
Hot on the heels of Playing God’s domination of the WA Horse of the Year awards, Delago Deluxe and Voice Commander have been recognised on different sides of the world.
Delago Deluxe beat out fellow Magic Millions graduate Fighting Warrior to be crowned the Champion Two-Year-Old of South Africa at their recent Horses of the Year celebrations.
A member of the Charles Laird stable, Delago Deluxe is a $550,000 graduate of Baramul Stud from the 2010 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
He has raced on four occasions and is yet to taste defeat and rounded out his first season on the track with a barnstorming win in the Group One Gold Medallion at Scottsville.
Delago Deluxe is the sole runner to date for the city winning and exceptionally well related Flying Spur mare Succeeding.
Succeeding is a half sister to the exciting young group winning stallions Excites, Tickets and Duporth.
Popular Canberra galloper Voice Commander was also recently honoured when he was crowned the NSW Country Champion Horse of the Year.
One of the toughest gallopers in the country, Voice Commander was rewarded for his outstanding 2010-11 racing season under trainer Nick Olive.
Voice Commander, a son of Commands, is one of five winners, from five to race, for the city winning Magic Ring mare Voice Mail.
Bred by accomplished South Australian horseman Greg Lesnikowski, Voice Commander was spotted by Olive at the 2006 Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale and he went to $55,000 to buy him.
The gelding is back in work and he will be out to add to his prizemoney haul of $718,730.
