Magic Millions together with the Ballarat Turf Club (BTC) are pleased to announce a new race, the Magic Millions Ballarat 3YO Stakes, which is to be held on Ballarat Cup Day on Sunday 24th November 2013 with prizemoney of $100,000.
The race will be for three-year-olds over 1100 metres with set weights and no allowances for apprentices. To be eligible horses will need to be qualified for the Magic Millions Race Series. The race will be run in the usual Victorian anti-clockwise direction.
The Magic Millions Ballarat 3YO Stakes complements the $200,000 Magic Millions 2YO Clockwise Classic which is also conducted on Ballarat Cup Day. These races provide great opportunity for Victorian owners and trainers to target lucrative prizemoney with their Magic Millions graduates without the need to travel interstate.
These races also highlight Magic Millions’ commitment and support of their Victorian clientele and the Victorian racing industry.
Vin Cox, Managing Director of Magic Millions, said his company was thrilled to be announcing another new race for Victoria.
“Victoria is an important market to Magic Millions and we’re thrilled to announce this new graduate only race for November,” Cox said.
“Like the 2YO Clockwise Classic, the 3YO Stakes will be a great lead up to the $1 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas in January.”
Lachlan McKenzie, CEO of Ballarat Turf Club, said he was excited by the new initiative to include a second Magic Millions race on Ballarat Cup Day.
“BTC are delighted with the on-going support from Magic Millions,” McKenzie said.
“The Clockwise Classic was a great success in 2012 and the inaugural running of the Magic Millions Ballarat 3YO Stakes will substantially increase the profile of our Cup Day and provide even greater return to Owners and Trainers.”
“With the help of Magic Millions this year’s Ballarat Cup meeting will carry record prizemoney and bonuses of $795,000. We are very proud to stage a race day with prizemoney of this magnitude and are most confident it will result in high quality race fields,” he added.
Racing Victoria’s EGM Racing, Greg Carpenter, endorsed the programming of the new race. “The race complements the VOBIS Gold Classic and is another welcome addition to the raceday. RV is supportive of Clubs looking to enhance their racing programs and the relationship Ballarat Turf Club have forged with Magic Millions exemplifies this,” Carpenter said.
