Entries Closing For Magic Millions Yearling Sales

Inspections are underway with entries for three of Magic Millions’ feature yearling sales in 2012 closing next week.

The sales at the Gold Coast in January, Perth in February and Adelaide in March will give breeders a unique opportunity to market their yearlings to strong buying benches.

The Gold Coast Yearling Sale (11-19 January 2012) is Magic Millions’ showcase event that has captured the imagination of not only the domestic, but also the international buying market.

This is Australia’s leading sale – 26 per cent more yearlings sold for prices between $100,000 and $300,000 as well as 20 per cent more individual buyers of these yearlings in 2011.

The Perth Yearling Sale (14-19 February 2012) will take a fresh approach offering a revamped three tier select sale. This high class event has produced not only Group One winners in Western Australia, but also in the eastern states and also abroad.

The Adelaide Yearling Sale (13-14 March 2012) was the biggest growth sale of 2011 – the average rising 30 per cent and the gross soaring 65 per cent higher than the 2010 sale figures.

The Magic Millions name is synonymous with racetrack success with many stars of racetracks both in Australia and abroad having graced the company’s sales around the country. Seven of the last nine winners (sold at auction) of the World’s richest juvenile race, the STC Golden Slipper, are graduates of Magic Millions sales, and in the 2010/11 racing season Magic Millions proved the Number One source of Group One winners.  That trend looks set to continue with the ongoing selection of “type” yearlings.

Magic Millions sold yearlings have further appeal to the marketplace being eligible to compete for $5.05 million as part of the “World’s Richest Sales Incentive Race Series.”

“Magic Millions is the only sales company in association with Aushorse to support an inward buyer scheme proven to maximise the return for breeders,” Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox said.

“The leading trainers from around Australia buy the highest percentage of their horses at Magic Millions sales and Magic Millions sells more winners than any other sales company.”

“For the upcoming sales series in 2012 our selection team will be working hard selecting the best racetrack prospects so the work of buyers looking for that next champion is a good deal easier.”

“We urge breeders to select and nominate yearlings fitting the mould that has made the Magic Millions such a success story,” Cox added.
