Session two of Queensland’s greatest racing incentive sale the 2011 Magic Millions QTIS 600 will commence from 10am today, at the famous Bundall Sales Complex on the Gold Coast.
Some 270 lots have been catalogued for today’s session.
Session one of the sale yesterday grossed $3,394,500, selling 171 yearlings at an average price of $19,851, down 9 percent on the 2010 average ($21,883) for the opening session (up 17 percent on the 2009 average $16,932). The clearance rate was 70 percent.
Magic Millions acting managing director David Chester was pleased with the day’s results.
“The average and clearance are down on last year’s sale, but you need to take into account that we are selling an extra 100 horses in this year’s sale, this add’s pressure to the average and clearance rate.”
“On a positive note these factors are very much in buyer’s favour, as there is great value in the market at the moment,” Chester said.
Clients attending the sale from South East Queensland, Central, West and Northern regions including: Townsville, Mackay, Cairns, Roma, Longreach, and Rockhampton. There is considerable interest also from interstate and International buyers with clients attending today from New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and China.
