The $1 million Singapore Golden Horseshoe Series for Australian bred and sold juveniles proved an immediate success at Kranji today when Kaiser impressively won the $75,000 Juvenile Stakes (1000m).
As well as picking up the lion’s share of the $75,000 race purse, connections walked away with a $25,000 bonus with Kaiser an eligible runner for the Aussie linked bonus.
Kaiser is trained by his almost namesake Theo Kieser – who spotted and purchased him from October’s Magic Millions National Horses in Training Sale at the Gold Coast.
He went to $80,000 to secure the son of Seidnazar from the draft of Kingsportz.
“I knew there wouldn’t be a lot of entries for the race and that there was also a $25,000 bonus up for grabs as well as this horse is an Australian bred and purchased at one of the Australian sales,” Kieser said.
“All my two-year-olds have come out of Australia and are all here now so we’ll see how they come up for some of the other races in the series.”
“I went to the (Magic Millions) Ready to Run Sale with the intention of finding something specially for this race and we have come out of it with happy results.”
“It was a bit rushed to have him ready in time after I purchased him (in later October).”
“I was worried that he might have been one trial short and he was blowing quite a bit after the race.”
“KB gave him a jumpout from the barriers during the week and also thought he might have been a bit underdone.”
“I have no doubt that this run will bring him on quite a bit,” Kieser summed up.
Kaiser cruised home to win the race by a length and a half in a highly impressive performance.
Totality, the favourite, was second, while Dash for Win was third, a further two and three quarter lengths away.
Winning trainer Theo Kieser is preparing for a trip to Australia where this week he will be hoping to buy a future stable star at the Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale.
